Foxfarm Subdivision

  • The Foxfarm subdivision had approximately 150 serviced lots, consisting of a mix of townhouses and singles.
  • The project involved installation of Conspan Bridge over creek which was approximately 32 LM x 7 LM Wide.
  • Also required was installation of approximately 400 LM of Concrete Pressure Pipe.
  • A 3 Line sewer system was used.
  • 2 watermains were installed on the main roads to feed existing subdivision and new development.
  • Approximately 2 KM of roads were constructed.
  • Box culverts were installed to allow large water flow.
  • Red shale/clay posed was encountered and posed a challenge, but was resolved.

South Park Road Sanitary Reconstruction

  • A new sanitary sewer was installed within an existing road and removal of existing system.
  • Involved upsizing of sanitary sewer to accommodate future construction of several condo towers.
  • This project required bi-pass pumping to maintain sanitary flow within the existing and new sewer.
  • 3 months closure was allowed to construct approximately 3 KM of sanitary sewer.
  • All sewers were installed in vertical trenches using trench boxes and slide rails.
  • After sewer installation, a complete road resurfacing once done.

Inn on the Park

  • The project includes servicing for Tridel Developments @ Leslie and Eglington
  • A new sewer was installed on Leslie to new Inn on the Park Drive
  • The requirement was to maintain traffic on Leslie Street and only allowed to occupy 2 lanes with construction equipment.
  • The depth of sewer was approximately 6 LM within a tight confined area.
  • A vertical trench construction methodology was used to lessen to road disturbance.
  • A jack and bore section of sanitary sewer was used to maintain traffic.

Taunton Subdivision

  • This project involved approximately 600 + serviced lots.
  • Included the installation of over 6 km of sewers along with roads and concrete curbs.
  • There were 3 sewer systems installed at once.
  • This project involved a complicated sewer system that had numerous drop structures.
  • A storm water management pond was constructed, which included hardscaping and landscaping.

  • This project involved approximately 200 serviced lots.
  • Included the installation of deep 9 m + deep sewer within an established University campus.
  • The New City of Toronto standard was employed in building the laneways in concrete pavement versus the traditional asphalt pavement.
  • A new sanitary sewer was installed via Jack and Bore across Sentinel Road.
  • There were 6 storm and sanitary connections into existing stubs on highly trafficked roads that needed to be maintained.
  • All the services were for townhouse blocks.

Cathedraltown Subdivision

  • Former property was Romandale Farms
  • Approximately 400 serviced lots were constructed, 200,000 m3 of earthworks moved and 5 KM of roads constructed.
  • A subdivision was constructed during the construction of the Cathedral.
  • Dewatering was employed to draw down the water table to allow sewers to be installed at the design elevations.
  • Several creek crossings were constructed to maintain the Ministry of Environment natural flows.

Homestead Subdivision

Consultant Engineer: Urban Ecosystems

  • Involved 400 + acres of agricultural farm in rural Brampton transformed into a fully functional master plan community.
  • Considered one of the first large master plan communities in the City of Brampton.
  • The project was approximately 2,400 Lots in over 15 phases.
  • Over 1,000,000 m3 of earth moved to level area, and over 10 KM of roadway was constructed.
  • Blasting was used to break bedrock and shale to allow excavation to progress.
  • Project consisted of earthworks, underground servicing (storm, sanitary and watermain) and roadworks.

244 Finch Avenue Subdivision

  • Installation consisted of approximately 70 units of Stormtrap system versus an open Storm Water Management Pond.
  • A culvert was embedded across Altona Road during a 5 day closure.
  • Approximately 108 dwelling units were serviced during this time.
  • All existing utilities were brought in from existing travelled roads.

Enclaves of Upper Canada

Consultant Engineer: RV Anderson and Associates

  • Former property of Upper Canada College which was redeveloped into a subdivision.
  • Involved the installation of a double stack sewer.
  • A double cut of sewer for deep installation of bottom sewer was done. Depth is approximately 14 M. This could not be excavated safely, so a double cut methodology was needed.
  • A microtunnel was used to installed sewers across Hwy 7 along with sewers to the pond due to the vicinity of existing properties.
  • This project was constructed of an extensive system Storm Water Management Pond.
  • Unorthodox construction of pond with the subdivision to allow constructible land.
